Ubigi was founded by Transatel in 2018, and that age shows in two ways: 196 destinations — among the four widest we track — and a volume of public reviews no other provider in this batch approaches. Trustpilot carries around 6,800 ratings at roughly 4.4 out of 5.

Its technology also ships built into cars from several manufacturers, which explains why the name turns up in connectivity well beyond travel.

1,000 plans in our catalogue, at $0.44/GB at travel sizes. That's above the median: not among the expensive ones — Saily and Yesim sit at $0.80 and $0.73 — but nowhere near Stellar's $0.12.

Most eSIM providers focus on phones. Ubigi supports laptops with built-in eSIM, and published tests rate it as one of the few doing that well.

If you work while travelling and your laptop has a modem, that saves you depending on your phone's hotspot, with what that costs in battery.

On the other side, several reviews agree its website and checkout feel dated next to competitors, and that support leans heavily on automated replies. Automatic renewals also come up as a source of unexpected charges — worth watching.

Ubigi publishes sizes with a comma decimal: a 500 MB plan arrives written as "0,48828125GB". Parsed carelessly that reads as zero, and a 0 GB plan comes out free per gigabyte — which would have put it first in any price ordering.

We caught it because the result was absurd. Those plans now show correctly as 0.49 GB. We mention it because it's exactly the kind of silent failure that could be affecting other comparison sites unnoticed.

We also drop 112 of its products deliberately: monthly subscriptions with no end date. A recurring subscription isn't comparable with a one-off travel plan. Its feed declares neither tethering nor 5G.
