Roamix

Roamix contributes 30,011 plans to our comparison — more than any other provider and nearly double Airalo. But the figure needs explaining before it means anything.

Most of it is daily passes expanded across durations. The same product — say "2 GB per day in Andorra" — is sold as eleven separate plans within what we publish, one per length: 1 day, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 15, 21, 30 and 60, each with its own price.

What looks like noise in a table is exactly what makes Roamix useful for an awkward trip length. If you're travelling for nine days you don't have to buy a thirty-day plan: there's a ten-day option and a seven-day one, and you pay for what you use.

24,980 of its plans are unlimited — by far the largest volume in our comparison. And they're unlimited in the honest sense: when the daily allowance runs out the connection doesn't stop, it drops to reduced speed (512 kbps to 2 Mbps depending on the plan).

That distinction matters. Some providers call a large data bucket "unlimited", and when it runs out your phone has no connection at all. Roamix declares the throttled speed in the catalogue itself, so it can be verified rather than trusted.

On cost per day of unlimited data it's among the most competitive we track: from $0.56 a day in some destinations. If you'd rather not think about gigabytes, it's a solid option.

Roamix doesn't win on pure price per gigabyte. Its best rate on sensible sizes is $0.37/GB, well behind RedteaGO's $0.09. If you're optimising the cost of a specific data bucket, look elsewhere.

Coverage is also narrower than the headline suggests: 188 destinations against Airalo's 204. For unusual countries, check rather than assume.

One editorial decision worth explaining: their raw catalogue extends to 365-day plans which, with the daily price multiplied out, reached five-figure sums. We cap what we display at 60 days and $400. That isn't censorship — an $80,000 annual contract isn't a travel eSIM, and mixing it into the table distorts every other price on the page.
