abesteSIM

Singapore-based abesteSIM has the cheapest unlimited plans among the 24 providers selling them: from $0.19 per day. That sounds spectacular, and it's worth explaining why it's less so.

Of its 6,154 unlimited plans, 4,949 (80%) drop to 128 kbps once the daily allowance is used. At that speed text messages work, but a 1 MB photo takes about a minute to send, maps load in pieces and video won't play. In practice, once you pass the cap, your day is over.

The most common allowance is 1 GB a day, and there are 500 MB ones too. If you'll use your phone for more than messaging and maps, look in our table for one of its plans that drops to 384 or 512 kbps instead, or pick another brand. We show the speed on every row so you see it before clicking.

Where abesteSIM stands out without fine print is plain data bundles. Its catalogue median is $1.24/GB, well below the sector's $2.00. In Japan, 10 GB for 30 days costs $7.07 against a market median of $10.80. In Turkey, $4.82 against $9.18: nearly half.

Its catalogue is the third-largest we track: 10,434 plans across 166 destinations, 35 durations from 1 to 90 days, 5G on 7,474 plans, and 27 plans that include a phone number. All allow hotspot.

One detail for reading our tables correctly: its best price per gigabyte, $0.08/GB, comes from a Vietnam plan with 7 GB a day for 7 days that cuts off when the daily allowance runs out. We count it as a 49 GB bundle because that's what you can spend, but only if you use 7 GB every day.

On Trustpilot it holds 4.3 out of 5, but from only 37 reviews, all since July 2026. 81% are five-star and 8% one-star. With so few opinions one bad streak would move the average a lot, so treat it as an early signal, not a track record.

Praised: price, easy installation and coverage, even in rural areas. Criticised: activations that fail on the first attempt, and a case where airplane mode was needed to get signal back. Some would like a dedicated app.
